The Tanganyika Christian Refugee Service (TCRS) is a program of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) which sponsors development projects in northern Tanzania which aid Masai tribesmen, victims of HIV/Aids, and Burundian refugees. The Republic of Tanzania, a country in East Africa which includes mainland Tanganyika and the offshore islands of Zanzibar, Pemba and Mafia, has become a temporary home for thousands of refugees fleeing the political violence between the Tutsi and Hutu tribes in neighboring Burundi.
