Association For Craft Producers

Lila Kaji Prajapati, Nepali Potter
The Association for Craft Producers is a non-profit organization, established in 1984 to provide design, marketing, and technical assistance to low income craft producers in Nepal, one of the world's poorest countries. ACP works with about 1200 artisans from 15 districts in Nepal (90% of them are women) who produce textiles, toys, ceramics, and knitwear. ACP operates a resource center in Kathmandu where 100 artisans work in prototype development, providing orientation to home-based producers, preparing raw materials, and doing the finishing work on crafts produced in the villages.
ACP offers the following benefits to its artisans: savings program, festival bonus reward, scholarships for girls, paid maternity leave, medical care, clothing allowances, and loans for the purchase of equipment or facilities.
